Illuminate Psychology Services provides psychological intervention targeted to women throughout the lifespan. This includes women and their partners in the perinatal period (conception to 3 years post-partum), women’s general mental health and psychological debrief for young professionals.
Reasons you may seek psychological support and intervention may include:
The psychological intervention will be specific to your presenting issues and goals agreed upon in session.
Do I need a referral?
You can self-refer or be referred by your GP or another health practitioner.
You do not require a Mental Health Care Plan to attend, however if you wish to receive a Medicare Rebate will need to see your GP to obtain one prior to your appointment. Medicare rebates are $89.65 per session for up to 10 sessions.
What about private health claims?
You can submit your own claim to your private health insurance if they cover mental health.
Can my baby come?
If you are attending for perinatal support, you and your baby are welcome to attend session together.
Do you only see women?
This is not just a service for women. Men, Dads, partners can also be referred for counselling.
Can I attend both a psychological/education group and private sessions?
Yes, absolutely.
